Bayern approaches Osimhen and expected to send Mané in exchange to Napoli
Bayern Munich is reportedly making plans to bring Victor Osimhen back to the Bundesliga, with Sadio Mane moving to Napoli in a swap deal. Mane’s stock is said to have decreased within the club’s board since his altercation with Leroy Sane after the 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League.
Despite being fined €300,000 and banned from the game due to violent conduct, the club is reportedly not satisfied with the punishment. As Bayern Munich continues to search for a striker, the German giants are now eyeing Nigerian forward Osimhen.
According to Sky Sports reports, the approach for Osimhen is a way to suppress the €150 million price tag that the Serie A champions have placed on the 24-year-old player. Although negotiations have not yet begun between the two clubs, Mane’s €22 million annual salary could be a stumbling block in the way of the deal for Napoli.
Napoli may agree to the deal
Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt is another target for Bayern, but they face a tough battle for the Frenchman with Manchester United showing significant interest. Bayern Munich is looking to strengthen their attacking options after Robert Lewandowski suffered an injury that has kept him out of action for several weeks.
Osimhen currently plays for Napoli and has been impressive in his first season with the club, scoring ten goals in 23 appearances. The 22-year-old Nigerian international joined Napoli in a €70 million deal from Lille last year.
Sadio Mane has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the club in 2016, scoring 94 goals in 212 appearances. The Senegalese forward has won several trophies with Liverpool, including the Premier League, Champions League, and Club World Cup.
It remains to be seen if Bayern Munich’s approach for Osimhen will be successful, but the German club is known for making big moves in the transfer market. With the potential swap deal involving Mane, it could be an interesting summer for Bayern Munich fans.
