Messi becomes target of MLS and David Beckham’s club could be the destination

Lionel Messi, the world’s best footballer, is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the upcoming season, and his next destination remains uncertain. While a return to Barcelona seems to be the most likely move in Europe, strong competition is emerging from the American Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Arab football scene.

As with Cristiano Ronaldo, the aim of Messi’s next move will be to boost the visibility of local football.  The MLS, in particular, is keen to sign the Argentine superstar, with Inter Miami being a frontrunner for his signature.

In an interview with CBS Sports, MLS Commissioner Don Graber expressed his ambition to bring Messi to the league, and Inter Miami appears to be a potential destination for the Copa del Mundo champion.  Messi himself has previously expressed his desire to play in the United States, describing it as one of his dreams during an interview with Spanish TV channel La Sexta in 2020.

Messi sees the MLS as a good option

The Inter Miami club, which was founded in 2018 by former player David Beckham, is viewed as a strong contender to sign the PSG No.30.  Beckham himself was present at PSG’s training session on Thursday, fueling speculation further.

Inter Miami, along with other MLS clubs, sees the acquisition of Messi as an opportunity to expand their global reach and enhance the league’s prestige.  With Zlatan Ibrahimović, Thierry Henry, and David Villa having already played in the MLS, Messi’s arrival would further cement the league’s status as a destination for top-tier talent.

Meanwhile, the football scene in the Middle East, with clubs like Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan, has also emerged as a potential option for the Argentinian superstar. The decision on Messi’s next move is eagerly awaited, with the football world buzzing with anticipation. Wherever he ends up, it is certain that his presence will have a profound impact.

The idea of the world’s best player plying his trade in the United States is a tantalizing prospect, and the MLS is undoubtedly eager to make it happen. With Beckham at the helm of Inter Miami, the club appears well placed to secure the signature of the PSG talisman, and the football world will be watching closely to see how this unfolds.
