Brazilian footballer Pepê, currently associated with Porto, is capturing the attention of other European clubs. The 26-year-old player, who left Grêmio in 2021 to join the Portuguese club, might be nearing an exit from his current team.
Although the player’s destination remains undisclosed, a Premier League club is engaged in negotiations with Pepê’s current team. Porto has yet to confirm the value of the potential transfer, considering that the player has a contract with the Portuguese team until 2027.
In fact, this isn’t the first time Pepê has sparked interest from European continent clubs. Teams from the Premier League, Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, La Liga, and Ligue 1 have been monitoring the player’s situation. However, the most substantial interest currently emanates from the United Kingdom.
Pepê has been increasingly standing out at Porto, primarily due to his ability to fulfill various roles. While his main position is in the attack, he has also played as a left winger and currently occupies the right-wing position.
Pepê Journey at Porto
The player has been earning growing recognition, thanks to his versatility that contributes across multiple positions. Since his arrival in 2021, he has become an essential piece for the team, even though he hasn’t scored any goals in the three matches played in the current season.
Pepê was transferred to Porto for a sum of 15 million euros, with Grêmio retaining 12.5% of rights over the player. Therefore, if the Portuguese team reaches an agreement with an interested club, the Brazilian team will still receive a portion of the future sale.
In the last season, the player provided 10 assists and scored 5 goals in 55 matches. Pepê was also approached by the Paraguayan national team but didn’t show interest. Furthermore, he received a call-up to join the Italian national team due to his Italian citizenship and eligibility to play for that team.
