Vinicius Júnior could join Liverpool in a billion-pound deal

Liverpool have been scouting the market for a replacement for Mohamed Salah. Although the 31-year-old is not leaving the club, Liverpool are looking to get ahead of the curve and Vinicius Junior is a potential target for them.

With Saudi clubs circling the player, Liverpool are not prepared to leave the position empty. As well as Vinicius Junior, the club are also considering players such as Kylian Mbappé and Bukayo Saka. However, for any of these big deals to happen, Salah would first have to leave the club.

While Liverpool understand the need for a Salah replacement and desire top-level players, they can only make a move with a big sale of the player. It is possible that Salah will receive offers from Saudi clubs in the near future, as they remain interested.

So far, Al-Ittihad have shown some interest in signing Salah. Initially, the offer would be £150 million for the player. If they negotiate with the Saudi club, Liverpool could then move forward with negotiations with Vinicius Junior or another big name in football.

Chance of Vinicius Junior joining Liverpool

With the sale of Salah, the Reds would be in a stronger position to negotiate higher fees. However, bringing Vinicius to the squad is not so simple. Firstly, there is the simple fact that Real Madrid are not interested in selling him.

The Spanish club view the striker as an essential part of their team. In addition, Vinicius Junior is the reigning world’s best attacker, which makes him crucial to the club’s success.

On the other hand, the player is also only 23 years old and his sale could potentially generate a lot more money for the club in the future. The player is contracted to Real Madrid until 2027, so for him to leave the club, it would require a lot of negotiation and a billion-pound offer.
